Ciarra K. Walters (1992) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Baltimore, Maryland (formally based in Los Angeles). Her practice centers around self-portraiture, movement-based performance, public art, and art education. Inserting her body in public space, both natural and metropolitan, her performances, videos, and photography examine the relationship between one’s physical self and its history in its environments.

She uses her newsletter, An Artletter, as a tool to empower, heal, and educate herself, and her community about contemporary/modern art, alongside her own work.

Her Instagram operates as an additional platform to provide art education to her followers, as well as showcasing her reviews of the latest noteworthy exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore, D.C., and other cities.

 

Walters is currently pursuing her Master's in the Photography + Media & Society program at The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, and is set to graduate in May of 2024.
